Out and About
Have you ever taken your dog to the University? to Strathcona? to Jackie Parker Park? Dogs are very curious and love to explore new places. Our Out and About sessions take us all over the city and are a wonderful way for both you and your dog to experience different places, people and things. We will be continuing our Out and About sessions through the fall of 2010. As the locations, times and days of the week vary, please call 780-416-4336 for details and to register. Many thanks to all who have attended the 2010 Out and About sessions so far. Once again, they were a lot of fun and a wonderful learning experience for both canines and humans alike.

Obedience
More than your average obedience class. In our Functional Obedience classes, we begin to develop a language that both you and your dog can understand. We learn the foundation of manners and obedience, how to prevent and manage undesireable behaviours and help YOU develop an understanding of basic canine behaviour and communication. We cover the basic obedience commands: come, sit, stay, down, heel. We also cover a wide range of more "functional" commands: leave it, move, drop it, stop, stand, walk nicely, etc. etc. etc. Functional Obedience II is a continuation of Functional Obedience I. Here, we focus on more advanced obedience skills and work at incorporating the 3 D's: distance, duration and distraction. |

Jenna is learning to jump through the tire

Walking Workshop
Do you wish that your dog would walk nicely and be well-behaved while out walking? If so, then this intensive workshop is for you. You will learn how to take control of your walks and teach your dog to walk nicely on a loose leash with no pulling, lagging or sniffing. If your dog is very reactive, whether to humans, other dogs or bicycles, we work with you both in order to teach you how to understand, manage and control that reactivity. Heidi the miniature schnauzer is walking so much better now that Lorraine has learned the loose leash walking technique. |
