Bev Kerr of Hound Sense is a Certified Master Trainer with a special interest in canine behaviour and communication. Her goals are to foster mutual respect, understanding, and to encourage responsible ownership. Whether in a class or private setting, Bev uses a positive, canine-friendly approach. She strives to help people develop a basic understanding of canine behaviour, learn how to communicate more effectively with dogs and teaches people how to manage their dog's undesireable behaviours. She also works with families to help them choose the right dog, settle a new dog in to a household or prepare a dog for a change in family routine. One of the most important aspects pf Bev's work is in educating people about dogs. To that end, she gives a variety of workshops and seminars through organizations such as Metro Continuing Education, private groups and associations. In addition, since 2004, Bev has worked in conjunction with the City of Edmonton holding off-leash workshops at designated off-leash areas. Bev received her certification from the Canada West Canine Centre in Salmon Arm, B.C. She continues her study of canine behaviour through coursework and by attending international seminars and conferences. She is kept busy with her three best teachers, Teddy, Bear and Haiya.
